Morning all,
It’s Grace here, Harry’s partner, and I’m offering a guest mailing list spot today…
Last night I asked Harry if there was anything I could do to help share his load right now (he’s got a lot going on, we’ll come to that). He thought for a moment, asked if I could replace our temperamental hob (reader, I cannot), then jokingly said - any chance you’d write my mailing list?!
So, here we are.
I’m sat in the park with our boy asleep in the pram - it’s sunny, all these things feel like wins.
It’s May. And Harry is halfway through his Wonderful 2.0 tour - coming to a town near you (probably, or already been).
This past week he’s been in Devon - Bude, your sea pool never fails to deliver (and I hear your vintage shop/ poetry venue was an absolute vibe). Exeter - big thanks for the always warm welcome!
Next week it’s a big 7 shows in 7 days - I’ll be honest, I think most are already sold out, but if you’re near Cambridge, St Albans, Plymouth, Penzance or Newquay - do check in case there’s a final seat for you to snap up and enjoy.
Other big things in Harry’s world this month - any Songs of Praise fans out there? Yeah.. I don’t think I’ve ever watched it either, but, everyone’s heard of it, and that’s fun.
Harry was invited on the share some poems and chat for their Father’s Day special, airing on BBC One on the 15th June (I’m sure a link will be shared next month). The film crew were lovely and Margate was sunny and the small boy played along but filming takes ages (and it’s non-identifiable images of our boy, so every time he turned to look at the big shiny cameras we had to adjust him again!). So that was a full couple of days last week.
Meanwhile, end of March the first draft of Harry’s new book was sent off to his publishers (so exciting!!), then last week they replied - very positively, but asking when they’d get to see those missing poems (you know, those crucial 10 that haven’t quite been written yet). So enter new deadlines and a 10 day tour pause, becoming a ‘must write all these poems to try at the next few gigs so I can then send them to my publisher’… Hence, he’s writing poems this morning and I’m writing the newsletter. And we come full circle. And on cue - the small boy is waking up.
I’ll leave you with this poem that was handed out at our local library last week - what a stunner. And yes, Harry is busy, but if you asked him, I know he’d say, he keeps bumping into joy, and isn’t he lucky.
Stay brilliant,
Grace x
Sorry, Harry, but this is the best post you've done 😂
Seriously though, I love the line:
"I’m sat in the park with our boy asleep in the pram - it’s sunny, all these things feel like wins."
It's a whole poem in 19 words that says more to me than I ever thought 19 words could. Thank you, Grace. I'm so happy for you three.
Thank you Grace. Big love to you 3 at this busy time - keep noticing the joy 🙏💜
